four years and a million spiders
"The four metre long woven textile was made from the silk of more than a million female Golden Orb spiders collected in the highlands of Madagascar. The hand-woven brocaded textile is naturally golden in colour and took over four years to create. It will be shown together with a new gold cape, woven and embroidered in Madagascar, which will go on public display for the very first time at the V & A."

Everett Peck at OMA
I have two promo booklets from Everett Peck that I've held on to since I was a Palomar College art student in the late 80s. It was amazing to see some of this work that I had been so familiar with for so long.

From 1992, I still have this one saved somewhere too. |
IT'S NOT MY FAULT: The Art of Everett Peck at the Oceanside Museum of Art. Only a few weeks left! Closes January 29, 2012.
